WooCommerce creates variations from the variation rows in the CSV. If those rows are rejected, you only get the attribute list. The usual causes are leftovers from an earlier import (delete the products and empty the Trash first) or importing with "Update existing products" ticked. Check View import log on the import results page for the exact reason.
After loading your products, click Download redirect file in the sidebar. It lists every product's old address and its new one, plus each category and its collection. For Shopify, import it under URL redirects in the Shopify admin (Online Store → Navigation, or search the admin for "URL redirects") → Import. For WooCommerce, install the free Redirection plugin, then go to Tools → Redirection → Import/Export and import the file. Do this once the products are imported and the domain points to the new store.
No, not for a first import. With it ticked, WooCommerce only updates products that already exist and skips new variations. Use it only to update products that were imported before.
No. Each product is placed in exactly one download (the largest collection it belongs to), and its row lists all its collections as categories. "Download all" gives you every product once, in one file.
The one set in WooCommerce → Settings → Products → Weight unit. Weights are converted to that unit so the import maps the column automatically.
The store hides its products from public access or has no published products. For your own store, export the products from the Shopify or WooCommerce admin and use "Upload CSV" instead.
Yes, if you know its storefront password, with the Chrome extension. When a scan finds the password page, a password box appears under the address bar. Enter the password and click Scan again. The password is only sent to that store's own password page and isn't saved.
Shopify's product CSV can't put products into collections. Each WooCommerce category becomes a Shopify tag, and the first category becomes the product type. In Shopify, create automated collections with the condition "Product tag is equal to …" and the products fill them automatically. After loading your products, click Create collections in Shopify in the sidebar for the exact list of tags to use.
Your files aren't. Conversion and CSV creation happen inside your browser. To scan a store, the website asks our proxy to fetch that store's public product pages, because browsers don't let a website read other sites directly. The proxy passes them straight back and keeps nothing. With the Chrome extension, even that step goes directly from your browser to the store.
Both scan stores and convert CSVs the same way. The extension reads stores from your own browser, so it also works on stores that block website-based scanners, and nothing passes through our servers. Compare them.
